Bank Sarasin set itself the objective of developing a strategic health management concept covering the key sustainability indicators by the end of 2012. In order to realize this objective an interdisciplinary team has been formed with members from the areas Human Resources, Sustainability Research and Sustainability Management. The Kick-Off Meeting was held in May 2011.

Today already the Sarasin Group views the promotion of health as a fixed element of the corporate culture. For example, the Bank provides free tea, coffee and water dispensers in its Swiss offices. All offices in the Sarasin Group have been non-smoking since 2007. At Bank Sarasin in Switzerland free flu vaccinations are offered every year. Employees in Switzerland also have the opportunity to benefit from reduced rate health insurance premiums. At the Basel office the bank employees are also given a discount for a subscription to a local fitness studio.

With targeted activities Bank Sarasin encourages the employees to more movement in everyday life. For example, Bank Sarasin took part in the "bike to work" promotion launched by the PRO VELO SCHWEIZ for the sixth time. A total of 32 bank employees based in Basel, Geneva and Zurich took part and rode their bikes to work on at least 50% of the work days in one month. They not only did something for their own health here, but also set a signal for sustainable mobility.
